1. Data Controller

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the data needed to run the app:

• Store & account data — your Shopify store domain, shop name, primary contact email, and plan, provided through Shopify’s authentication when you install the app.
• Google Business Profile data — when you connect your Google Business Profile, we access the reviews you have already published on Google (reviewer display name, public profile image, star rating, review text, and review date), together with your aggregate rating and review count. This is review content that is already publicly available on Google.
• Widget configuration — the display settings you choose, such as placement, layout, and which reviews to show.
• Technical & usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, and basic diagnostic logs, used to render the widgets and keep the service secure.

We do not collect personal data from your storefront visitors beyond standard technical logs; the app displays publicly available Google reviews.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data to:

• Import your Google reviews and display them on your storefront (product pages, star ratings, homepage carousel).
• Keep your reviews in sync as new ones are published.
• Provide support and respond to your requests.
• Maintain the security, integrity, and performance of the service.
• Handle billing through Shopify and comply with our legal obligations.

We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure (Railway, railway.app) and protected with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit. Imported reviews are cached so they display quickly and are refreshed periodically. Access to your data is restricted to what is strictly necessary to operate the app.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with the sub-processors required to provide the service:

• Google (Google Business Profile API) — to retrieve your verified reviews.
• Shopify — for app functionality, installation, and billing.
• Railway — cloud hosting.

We may also disclose data when required by law or to protect our legal rights. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, object to, or restrict the processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@percolating-studio.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Google reviews are public content owned by their respective authors and managed through Google.

7. Cookies

The app uses only essential cookies required for its functionality. The storefront widget may set minimal functional cookies to render correctly. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Data Retention

We retain your store and configuration data for as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall the app, we delete your account data and cached reviews within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations. Diagnostic logs are kept for a limited time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
